This is one more dress and pinafore that I had made for work. I love the blue, and I can mix and match the green pinafore with other clothing I have.
My boss gave me the crocheted collar shown in the first two photos, and I got really lucky and found the lovely blue shawl at a thrift shop! The collar you see beneath it, below, was sent to me by my friend Faith (thank you!!).
I have managed to find some shirts/blouses at thrift shops, as well, and I think I may have one more skirt made some day and then I will really be set. Penny will be modeling for you again, naturally. Now I think I will concentrate on searching for comfortable shoes that look, somehow, at least somewhat period-appropriate. This should be interesting....

I Simply Had To....
After I did that post the other day about the Hershey's cookbook, I perused the recipes some more, and one of them that was opposite the page with the picture of the brownies on it caught my eye. "Mini Chip Brownies" - a quick, easy recipe. Hmmm....I had everything I needed to bake them, it was my day off - sounded like a good idea to me!
In my opinion, they shouldn't really be called brownies, as they are really just a version of a chocolate chip bar cookie.
I ate some, and I even lost weight this week, when I weighed in at my Weight Watchers meeting yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised to find that an one-ounce homemade chocolate chip cookie is only 3 Points Plus values.
And, yes - they're REALLY good!
(I don't have time this morning, but I will try to get the recipe added to this post as soon as I can, just in case you are interested in trying them.)

Hershey's Chocolate Memories
I wrote a post back in 2009 about the "Hershey's 1934 Cookbook" that I love so much because of all of it's photographs featuring wonderful vintage items, and I thought I'd write about "Hershey's Chocolate Memories", which is also pretty great. Who doesn't love yummy pictures of fabulous chocolate treats? Like brownies:
And all sorts of confections:
Hershey's Chocolate Chip Cookies:
Take a fabulous chocolate cake on your picnic:
Or bake a delicious pie:
There are so many great-sounding recipes in this book, it's almost overwhelming.
Absolute yum. Thanks, Hershey's! Love 'ya!

OH, Yeah....
I was SO happy to finally have the opportunity to watch "Mad Men" again last night!
And I simply had to pick up this copy of Newsweek when we went to the supermarket yesterday morning. The promise of a Mad Men article - with photos - and also vintage or retro-style advertising inside was impossible for me to resist. I mean, you know how much I love my old magazines and advertisements, right?
Vintage Newsweek covers:
And some great ads, like Hush Puppies:
And Dunkin' Donuts:
And British Airways:
And the ad below - you know, even if I had a tablet computer, I would still buy magazines and books no matter what. I like old magazines, new magazines, old books, new books - can't get enough of 'em, actually! They don't have to sell me on it! I'm already sold:
Yep, a vintage-style magazine, and "Mad Men" is back - it doesn't get much better than that!
Hip, hip, hooray!
Now, I can't wait for next week.......

The Year Of The Cabbage Patch Doll
What with Lori's recent posts about her sweet litle granddaughter, I got to thinking about Addison's mommy, who was also pretty darned cute when SHE was little! Back in the days of the Cabbage Patch Doll craze, Lori went to a good deal of trouble to make matching adorable outfits for Amber and her doll, so that when she opened her doll on Christmas Day, they would be wearing the same clothes! Well, wouldn't you know it? Kids WILL be kids, after all, and little Amber threw a bit of a fit that morning because she wanted to wear something else!
Somehow (ahem!) they got her into that outfit, and I am sure she was very pleased when she opened up her doll!
I mean, come on - how CUTE were they?!

A Day with my Granddaughter
Grandma Lori here:
I go to spend a day with my little granddaughter recently; she is a very busy 2 year old!
She thought my Sudoku game was a phone cause it made noises and had a pen!
In the toy box were a plastic egg and 2 bouncy balls. She had fun opening the egg and fitting the balls in the 2 sides.
We went outside for a while; it was a beautiful day, here she is going up my garden path:
Up the stairs - they're kinda steep for her:
Made it. Off we go.....
A nice smile.....
Touching the ceramic frog, "ooooohhhhh...."
My one and only daffodil bloomin'.....
Hammin' it up for Grandma:
She followed a bug with her feet, then promptly stepped on it.....
I said, " You squished it", she got a closer look to check......
Playing with more toys:
She is such a joy, I really enjoy our time together!!!!!
