This adorable photograph is from an old Christmas card received in the 1930's by my in-laws. Cute!
And here, a Sears "Nylon Net" Christmas tree from a 1958 magazine advertisement. I like it!
These next two were taken years ago when our family always used to get together and make cookies with our beloved friends, the Headley family. They had three girls, too. Only the two middle sisters were the same age. We still love them all dearly. In this photo, from left to right: Diane, Barbara, Lori, Tina, Lisa and me:
This picture is showing off some of our finished cookies. Sure do wish I could see this one in color!
I still love to bake and decorate sugar cookies and gingerbread cookies, but I didn't get around to it this year. It's much more fun when you can get a whole group of family and friends together to help. Not quite as much fun with just one person! Everybody is so busy during the holiday season, it can be difficult to coordinate a gathering. There's always next year!
Or maybe we will try to do Valentine's Day cookies instead. We still have plenty of time to plan for that.
Oh My! It looks like I was the messy one, just look at all the flour down my front!! Or did I just not do the right thing that day and wear white like some of us!! What fun!!
ReplyDeleteWe had so much fun with those girls. I just had a long dream about a week ago and it had our old kitchen in it. It was nice to see it again! I have photos of making cookies with my granddaughters and may do a post with them next week. It is fun to carry on the family traditions. Love T
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say that I love the house in the right corner of the first picture. It looks like it could be a Mary Engelbreit house. Also, I have a Nylon Net tree somewhere, but it is rather ratty so I don't set it up. I would love to have a good one. Love T
