It looks pretty good there, doesn't it? I love to bake, and I don't think I have ever made cookies from a mix. It's so easy to mix up a batch from scratch. But I bought one of these mixes back around Thanksgiving, because I just felt like trying it. I never did make it during the holidays, but I finally decided to give it a try a few days ago.
It was all right, but, with apologies to Betty Crocker, I think I'll stick with homemade gingerbread from here on in.
Gingerbread can definitely be counted as one of my favorite things in life. I agree it is very easy to make without a mix! Now I want to make some. Love T
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty yummy to me. Add a big dollop of whipped cream and I'd be a happy gingergirl.
ReplyDeleteDaddy used to love gingerbread and I remember making it for him and it was from scratch!! Whipped cream on top was a must!! Hope to do more gingerbread men with the grandkids come Christmas!!
ReplyDeletemy mother in law (RIP) was fantastic at so many things. gardening, sewing and cooking to name just a few. something she made i nicknamed indiana shortcake cuz she was from indiana. she would break her gingerbread into large pieces and serve with peaches (fresh please so this is seasonal) and whipped cream!!! delicious. i made a 'cake' once. two gingerbreads and in the center i put the peaches with a bit of whipped cream. topped it with whipped cream. y'all must try this when peaches are in season-it is soooo amazing.
