Just a simple post about Knott's Berry Farm today, including a few things I had around the house. When my husband received an eBay item recently, the seller had kindly thrown in a couple of extras - and one of them was this great post card! How did he know that we would love to have it? Dated 1957, and featuring the Burro Train. Very nice!
This souvenir menu is most likely from 1952, when my husband's family visited Knott's:
Talk about your Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner! It has been so long since I was there and had that yummy dinner! And the boysenberry pie. To die!
Pictures from the inside of the menu/brochure:
I showed this photograph one other time here on our blog. Kids playing and posing on this old railroad locomotive from the Calico Mining Company. I picked up this photo at the flea market.
This picture is more special. It's my husband, his older brother and Dad. Taken in September of 1952. Cute!
These days, hubby still loves trains, and he also likes Knott's Berry Farm jam or preserves on his English muffin in the morning. We also just happened to have a bottle of Boysenberry Syrup in the refrigerator. Try a little on some lemon sorbet. Yum.
This jar of Blackberry Preserves was waiting in the pantry to take over when the Raspberry Jam ran out. And I just recently found this sweet little souvenir jam pot at one of my favorite thrift stores! How perfect is that?
I almost forgot that I had this cookbook, too:
I'll tell you a secret. I am getting REAL tired of my diet, or my attempts at it - and I am getting dangerously close to saying to heck with it and baking up one of these boysenberry pies:
Dangerously close , I tell you.
What great photographs!! It's been years and years since we were at Knott's Berry Farm, brings back great memeories! Neat old menu! Oh, I know you are really close to baking a pie, if you do, let us know how great it was!

I've always been fascinated with Knott's Berry Farm. I say 'Go for the pie!' My son and I were joking tonight about being on 'unsucessful diets'. I guess it's not so funny:( Twyla
