Have you ever seen something at a thrift shop - and it was love at first sight??? (I'm pretty sure you have.) Sometimes it happens to me, and I just can't bring myself to buy it. Maybe it's completely impractical, maybe I can't afford it - or I don't have a place for it. Or perhaps even all of the above.
But then, you leave - and you can't get it out of your mind? You keep thinking about it? In fact, you might even start obsessing about it? Happens to me all the time. And then two days later, you go back?
And it's gone.
And when that happens, you are very, very sorry you did not buy it when you saw it. Yes, unfortunately, that happens to me ALL too often.
But not this time.
(The artist's name is Chezzio. I was unable to find out anything about him or her.)
Yes, oh yes and yes!!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm so glad you got it this time!!! :)
Yes. Usually I feel the item calling me to the thrift store. But I guess that is when I buy it right then. Glad you went back and it was there! Love T
ReplyDeleteOh, Heidi, I was holding my breath that it wasn't gone! You must promise me you will NEVER 'fall in love with anything' and leave it! Have a nice day! Twyla
ReplyDeleteThat's stunning; glad you were able to get it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT! I'm so glad you went back and it was still there. I passed up several teak/ceramic lamps this weekend and when I went back for them, they were gone. I was a little relieved because as you know....I don't need any more lamps!!! I'm still thinking about them though.
ReplyDeletei am so glad you got it!
ReplyDeleteOh no I've never experienced that! HA! My daughter would go crazy over that peacock! Glad ya got it!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! I am so happy it was still there. I once walked all morning around a swap meet, and every time I passed this Tin Man/Knight I stopped picked it up loved it and said "No it is too much" and left it, then as I was passing it again I watched another woman pick it up and I was alarmed "she is going to buy my knight!", I watched and exhaled as she put it down and left. I quickly ran up bought him. He is one of my very favorite things.Funny
ReplyDeleteI think your peacock is fabulous and a bit Seussy... kinda looks like a Sneech! ;0)
I know just what you mean ;-)) But i am so pleased you bought this picture it is stunning and so much fun ;-)) dee x

DeleteI have one of his other paintings. My cousin found out some information some odd years ago and there was said to only be three in existence all the same design, but different colors. I have one that looks like the one you posted but mine is different shades of blue and green.
ReplyDeleteI have one of his paintings. My cousin found some info on Chezzio he painted three different styles of this peacock. They all look the same just different colors.
ReplyDeleteYvette and Miranda - I would sure love to see photos of your paintings! If that would be at all possible, you can e-mail me directly from my Profile page. Just click on HeidiAnn where you see it in the right margin of the blog. Or you could also leave me another comment here, and I will not publish it to the blog if you give me your e-mail, and I will write to you. I was not ever able to find out anything, but I would be so tickled to see a picture of something similar he has done! Thank you for finding this, and for commenting!

Greetings, I have a peacock painting also. Looks like the one in the picture but mine is very dirty as it hung in a mechanics bay above the waste oil drums for years. The were going to throw it out but I retrieved it out of the trash. I liked it the first time I saw it and would like some info about it and the artist. CF
ReplyDeleteHello CF, I am happy to hear from someone else who is a fan of this artist. I wish I had some information for you. Thank you for commenting!
ReplyDeleteI have this same painting, which was passed down to me by my grandmother. I like it because it has been a memory from my childhood- I used to love the bright colors and would touch all the round raised edges on the painting, liking how they felt. I can not find any info on the painter either- it would be fun to find something. We have it hanging in our hallway, and it is a fun conversation piece.
ReplyDeleteI became a new owner of an oversized Chezzio peacock painting today. I also can't find out anything other than what people have posted here.
ReplyDeleteHello, Anonymous - I wish that everyone who has commented here would send me photos of their paintings, so that I could write another post about the artist "Chezzio" and show everyone more examples of his artwork! I would so love to see them, and I think our readers would be interested, as well.
ReplyDeleteHello I'm Kurt. I have this peacock painting by Chezzio also! Mine is darker then the one you have pictured. I've been trying to find out as much as I can about the artist and how much this picture is worth. I took a picture of it if you would like to see it.
ReplyDeleteHi Kurt - I hope you see this, because I have no other way to contact you, since I do not have your e-mail address.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to see pictures of your painting! You can e-mail me by clicking on my name "Heidi Ann" along the left side of our blog.
Thank you so much for writing!
I still treasure my painting just as much as I did the day I brought it home, and I am delighted to hear from others who have one like it.
Hi All,
ReplyDeleteMy mother purchased the Peacock painting by Chezzio I believe in the late 1960s and it is still a beautiful piece of art.
Any idea how much it is worth?
Thanks,
Rita
Hi Rita - I'm sorry, I don't know how much these paintings are worth at this time. I am sure there are a lot of people who would love to own one.
ReplyDeleteI felt very lucky to come across one at a thrift shop! I would LOVE to see a photo of your mother's painting, if that would ever be possible?
I bought this painting off Craigslist yesterday. I paid $115.00 for it. I think I got a bargain. I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI have one that is darker in color
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see it, Nate!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get photos from everyone who has commented, so I could write another post about these beautiful peacocks!
My friend had one in his house for years. I always wanted it. Then one day I found out he was selling it I paid $304.00.. But I love it!!
ReplyDeleteHi, I have a beautiful peacock painting by Chezzio I would love to sell it. Please let me know if anyone is interested. .. thx Irma
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who purchased the same painting. Any idea how to determine the value? It appears after reading the posts from others the price radically varies. Year as well is sparatic..... hmmmm.....would sure appreciate some solid information. Thanks all!
ReplyDeleteI just found another one at a Habitat Restore!
ReplyDeleteClaudia Morris - that's SO cool! (I am commenting here because I have no way to contact you.)
