Today's model is blonde beauty Mona Grant. Talk about a gorgeous face!
here she is in a lovely peasant-style dress, from 1971:
The next four are all from the same year - 1970. In a hammock:
Chillin' on the beach:
Wearing a wig and a hat:
And in an advertisement for Born Blonde:
The green sweater she's wearing below happens to be by Betsey Johnson for Alley Cat - cute!
So pretty in blue, from '72:
And this is her, too, from the same year:
Just another one of my favorites - I loved looking at my magazines back then (as i still do now!) - the fashions, the makeup, room decor - all of it!
(All images are from my vintage Seventeen magazines.)
I am feeling like a hot cup of cocoa and cuddling up on a sofa with your Seventeen magazines and a good Christmas movie. Love T
ReplyDeletei used to love seventeen magazine also, i haven't looked at current one in ages.
ReplyDeleteOh...Tina has the right idea. That sounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteWeren't they just adorable and (with the exception of Twiggy) so healthy looking! These darn young fashion models today are killing themselves & NOT looking pretty or healthy. *Sigh* Guess I'm just getting old. How great you saved your magazines to re-love them over & over. I shutter to think what the new ones consist of!
ReplyDeleteHello! I just found this blog, when I was trying to find some information about Graphistamps, then found your "H" stamp. HOW WONDERFUL that you found that H. I, too, am an "H" (Holly). And then I saw MONA GRANT! God, it's like nobody knows anything about this stuff anymore or cares, except a select few. I LOVE her! She was 6' tall and had a black cockapoo (so cute) and I loved seeing her in Seventeen. I so wanted to be LIKE her and get to 6' (only made it to 5'10"). It's prompting me to try to find out whatever happened to her, now. I love the 70's (I'm 55) and watch a lot of MeTv as well. AND grew up in Orangevale! Anyway...WOW!
ReplyDeleteHi Holly - I don't even know whether you will see this, but I am so happy you found our blog, and so glad you are enjoying it! I hope you will continue reading and I would always love to hear more comments! There are a LOT more posts on similar subjects, so enjoy! (And tell your friends!) :)
ReplyDeleteI grew up with Mona. She was a good friend. Sometimes I would have the pleasure of accompanying her and her mom into the City for photo shoots. Seeing these photos brings back so many good memories.
ReplyDeleteJune - That's so cool! Thank you so much for commenting.
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted that you found my post and enjoyed the photos.
Mona Grant was truly one of my VERY favorites - so please check back because I am certain to be doing another post about her, featuring more photos from Seventeen.
Thanks again!
