We have been having a pretty warm January here in the northern California foothills.
Now, I do not mean to be complaining about nice weather - but it IS winter, and it's supposed to be colder than this.
We need rain badly, and the ski resorts in the mountains could sure use some of this:
The resorts are used to being open from Thanksgiving on, and there is , like - no snow.
I really do feel bad for them. I do not relish the idea of needing to drive to work in snow, but, higher up? Yes, they sure could use it. I'm just sayin'......
Yes! I live at the base of a ski Mountain and although they are able to make snow up there, we need Real snow real bad.
ReplyDeleteIt has been such a contrast to the weather last year.
Sure has been nice though ;0)

same here in michigan - no snow. heard from someone that in yosemite that it is like it was in 76-77 and that is when we first moved to calif and went to yosemite. hope this isn't the beginning of another drought in calif. we are cool here in michigan but not cold or frigid as it should be.
ReplyDeleteA strange coincidence is that the last measurable rain was Dec. 15th which was the day of my surgery... Perhaps I need to get over my convalescence and then the rain will come back? I wouldn't mind too much. I like reading and watching old movies, but it IS getting old... Love T
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, and this weather is certainly good for the frozen yogurt business, obviously not so busy when it's super cold outside!!
ReplyDeleteA lot of our business is also Tahoe traffic, not so much right now....
I was curious what the High School Ski/Snowboard teams are doing right now, my Son was on it years ago.
I have a feeling we will get majorly dumped on in Feb & Mar. Tina! You had your surgery?! Drop an e-mail & let me know how you're doing!
ReplyDelete~Vickie~
It sure has been a mild winter. Over in Missouri it was 75 the other day. I don't think I've ever seen it this warm in January. I feel for the ski resort owners, but let's keep it that way!
ReplyDeleteDid Kitty Carlisle sing the song with Bing, or did he do it alone?
ReplyDeleteI read how she expected to have "Love In Bloom" become her theme song, as she performed it in A NIGHT AT THE OPERA...only to be in attendance when an orchestra struck it up as a joke when Jack Benny entered, and I think you know the rest.
Well, I have done everything I can think of to bring on the rain. I've washed the windows and the car.
ReplyDeleteI have even thought about some kind of special "rain dance".
NOTHING! ZILTCH! NADA!
I'm getting worried.
