My grandmother crocheted vests like those with matching hats/beanies for my twin and I. Our vests were red, white and blue. They were so darling! When my mother passed in 2009 I found them in a drawer in my old dresser.
now that i finally have kinda sort of fiqured out how to post photos - at least on Facebook - perhaps i can take a photo of the granny square skirt my mom made me in high school. you said a long time back that you would like to see it. i will see if i can.....
This looks like something I could do. They are wonderful! Wish I still had that model figure like her. Somewhere along the way I lost the skinny, mod body that looked really good in these things.

You betcha! Youngsters are looking drab. Or bizarre: black & chrome; chrome chains! I’m glad I’m not a teenage boy nowadays. That bowlegged walk they have to do to keep those low-hangin’ jeans from falling to their ankles would pain me something fierce. Not that I don’t know bunches of wonderful young’ns. They help me dig my car out of the snow when I have to park at the little store in Cedar Grove. (long, steep driveway)
Yes, rib ticklers are so colorful and cute. Thanks Heidi.
I think everybody made & wore these granny square vests back then...my sister even crocheted one for my Barbie! Also, crocheted ponchos and super long stocking caps and purses...we were crochet crazy and very colorful.
I love them, and it makes me wish I was skinny again! Love T
