Today's pattern from the past is McCall's number 4028, a Carefree Pattern from the year 1974.
"Carefree means it's easier to do...McCall's means it looks better too."
I think the model is Patti Hansen (please correct me if I'm wrong!):
This one , to make as either a top or a dress, was "Extra Carefree", as you can see:

ReplyDeleteOhhh the maxi dress is divine, so my thing. Popping by to say hi and thank you for having me in your blog roll. Hope you're having a great day.
ReplyDeleteAll I can think is that I sure wouldn't be able to wear this pattern now. But, weren't they cute?
ReplyDeleteI defer to you about the model's name. You always know who they are. I find that amazing.
we found this pattern at a secondhand shop but it didn't come with instructions. Do you know where we might be able to get them? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: The only thing i can think of is that you would need to try and find another pattern on eBay or Etsy, one that is complete. I do not have this pattern any longer, so I'm afraid I cannot help you out. Good luck - it's a bummer when you buy a pattern that is incomplete! Most home sewers would put everything back into the envelope when they were done. I wish everybody did.
