Signs, Signs....

I bought this US Mail sign some time ago, when I was still working for the Postal Service. I keep it right by the little box we use in the house to hold our outgoing letters:
I picked up this one at the great estate sale, I just thought it was cool. I put it in the bathroom:
My husband is a retired railroad man, and he collects all kinds of RR stuff. This sign is just one example:
And this last one? Well, YEARS ago, I was out on a drive with the man I was dating at the time. We were over by Cherry Lake someplace - I believe on Cherry Creek Road. We stopped by a bridge that ran over the creek to eat our lunch. Logging trucks were coming down this hill on the curvy road at a ridiculous and dangerous speed. We saw this sign up around the curve, and I said "It should say hauling ass!" Well...he just happened to have some black electrical tape in his truck - so, before we left, it DID!
Please excuse my language, but I thought it was hilarious. I'm glad he had his camera with him.

  2. I totally love that sign...we have some log haulers in northern Wisconsin do the same thing! I have no idea how they would even stop if they had to !!!

    Have a great week!

  4. I, for one, think the word "ass" never ceases to be funny. We were watching the very awesome "Planet Earth" last night on Discovery, and on it was a herd of Wild Ass. When the narrator said those words, we all laughed until we cried, and the jokes never stopped all night - my kids were quick to point out that hey, they could say "ass" because we were talking about the animals on TV! It was pretty hilarious, I must say.
