Veteran's Day

As we honor our veterans today, I thought I would share these pictures: Our Daddy when he was in the Navy:
My father-in-law when he was in the Army (he's on the right):
and my husband when he was in the Air Force (1970):
I found this in our morning paper: When President Eisenhower proclaimed Nov. 11,1954, as Veteran's Day, he wrote,"...let us solemnly remember the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom, and let us reconsecrate ourselves to the task of promoting an enduring peace so that their efforts shall not have been in vain."

    My sister and I were just on the phone saying that we miss calling our Dad on Veteran's Day. We used to call him our "Favorite Veteran."

    Hi Christina - Thanks so much for leaving a sweet comment. Yes, I have the photos in my home. I have collected the vintage frames in that style for many years, and have them all over the house!
