The Enchanted Tiki Room Presented by Dole Pineapple

The Enchanted Tiki Room opened in Disneyland in 1963. I never get tired of it. I love the show every single time, and I enjoy singing along.
When we were there three weeks ago, we sat and waited outside for the next show to begin. It was dark out and I thoroughly enjoyed the little pre-show before the doors opened. If I have ever sat and experienced that entire show before, it was so long ago that I didn't remember it at all.

There is a short film about the history of the Dole company, and the Tiki Gods speak to you from every corner. I thought it was great!

At the Tiki Juice Bar Hosted by Dole, you can get a Dole Whip, and a few other Dole goodies.
This Dole magazine advertisement is from 1951:
So is this one:
And here is one from 1953:
And another from 1960:
I LOVE fresh pineapple - I think we'll start buying it more often.
And I'm ready to go back to Disneyland already.

  4. How timely that you should post this, as the Tiki Room is one of the attractions my DD is most excited to see when we go to Disneyland this weekend! I have some CDs of Disney music and the Tiki Room song is on there and she just LOVES it. I just called her in to show her your pictures so she'll know what to expect. And I personally can't WAIT to have a Dole Whip or a Dole Float! :D I'll think of you when I'm there this weekend!

  6. I love fresh pineapple too, if it is perfectly ripe. I'd love to be at the Tiki Room! I mean at "the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room". I love the talking parrots and minahs, I remember one is named Jose. Hi Faith, I too went on a Dole pineapple tour on Oahu in 1978. Very interesting. They gave us pineapples and I actually brought one home to California. Great post and I'd better go out now and buy a pineapple. Love T

  7. Hey ladies, the pineapple thing is not so hard!! We just hosted a Hawaiian party where we served roasted shredded pork, rice, cole slaw and FRESH PINEAPPLE! My hubby showed me how to cut it. The main thing you need is a big and very sharp knife. Look it up on Wikipedia... you can do it! I know you can!

  8. I love the Tiki Room! For some reason as a child we missed going there but I found it on a trip there when I was 20. It is really dated, a Disney classic!
