More Stitchery

I promised months ago that I would do some more posts featuring vintage stitchery kits. Gosh, I'd nearly forgotten! Finally, here I am today with some more to show you. The gorgeous daisies below, and the roses you see at the end of the post were designed by Jean Ray Laury, and were available through Better Homes And Gardens magazine:

"Progress" stitchery kits:

Stitchery in the abstract:

This bright vase full of flowers was a kit you could buy from McCall's:

Stitchery kits from Bernat:

And a truly beautiful cat:

A lovely Erica Wilson design:

Jiffy and Sunset kits:

And last, but not least, those beautiful roses I promised:

Have you ever done a stitchery project from a kit? Or made up your very own creation? I'd love to hear about it....

  1. I did a bunch of Jiffy Stitchery kits, some small, one large, that were Indian baskets and wheat stalks in the 70s. I guess I got sick of them because I don't have them anymore. I love the tortoise cat pillow. I have also always liked the Erica Wilson designs. Love T

  2. Yes I also did some back in the
    70s.
Probably still have a few unfinished here somewhere. After those we did counted cross stitch.
Also, a few of the hooked wool rug patterns, always craftin!!!

  3. I have never done any stitching or embroidering etc.
I really love the abstract one on your post. Makes me want to try some of this.

  5. I did the Jiffy Stitchery in the 70s..I think I only did 2 little ones. This was the time of plant holder macrame (can't even remember how now) and rug hooking...I eventually gave these things to the thrift stores...actually wish I still had them.

  6. I was happy to read all of your memories! And Tammy - how well I remember macrame plant holders, and rug hooking! I did one pillow-sized rug hooking kit, but I don't think I ever got the "hang" of macrame!
