Swing Thing Stationery

I walked through a thrift store in San Andreas and looked all around the entire place.
It's unusual for me to leave without buying anything at all, but I was on my way out the door with nothing this time.
Then I spotted this:
Seriously, RIGHT next to the door, and yet I had not seen it when I walked in.
Totally groovy long vintage notepaper tablet from the sixties.
"Swing Thing Stationery" - can you dig it?
I do, I most certainly do.
With three different colors of the paper remaining inside - pink:
Blue:
Yellow:
It was twenty cents!
And I love it.
I found one image on the web of the box and envelopes that it came with originally:
Sure, I'd love to have the envelopes, too, but I'll settle for what I've got.
Neato.
As always, I believe it was waiting there just for me.

  1. I love it too. I used to write a lot of letters in the sixties, and I had stationery with similar envelopes, I wonder if it was made by the same company? Mine was more of a real orange color, and regular sized paper sheets. Love T

  2. I absolutely can't believe this! I have this exact stationary, box and envelopes! And I was just thinking about it yesterday or the day before. I was thinking about vintage boxes and their decor and how I love to use those boxes to keep other things in and this is the box that came to mind. I had a thing about buying cute stationary in the 60's & 70's but I rarely wrote to anyone so I still have almost full boxes of all my vintage stationary. Someday I'll have to take pictures of them and send them to you. It still amazes me how much we have in common and yet we've never met! Thanks for posting this. It brightened my day!

  5. I'm not sure why, but the vibrant graphics on this stationery reminded me of your previous post of 12/12/14 about the artist named Lippman who did a series of ads (including one for Hanes pantihose) featuring colorful birds. I believe the artist's name is Peter Lippman and he has a charming series of childrens' mini-books that I think you would like very much, including "Santa's Workshop" and "The Enchanted Cottage".

Wouldn't it be funny if he was the artist who created these stationery designs back in the day?
