Lady Edith's Hats #5 - Pretty In Blue And Green

Today, Lady Edith is donning a kerchief, actually, rather than an actual hat.

Still, it's a head covering, and quite a pretty vintage one, at that!

 I love the colors of the flowers and the pattern.

Lady Edith doesn't need to worry much about her hair getting mussed, but she is ready for a ride out of doors, whether it be in an open carriage or a convertible automobile.
Come on, springtime; we're ready for you!

Lady Edith's Hats #4 - All Set For Summer In The Sun

Lady Edith has it made in the shade in this vintage hat I found at a thrift store.

It has red bandanna-style print trimming the rim, and also forming the ties - the better to keep it on in the wind, you know, my dear....

I felt the need to tie a red bandanna around her neck:

That doesn't make her a redneck, does it?

Oh, heavens, no!

Certainly not!

Lady Edith's Hats #3: Vintage Velour

I went into a new thrift store here in town recently. It's supposed to be the "higher-end" stuff from another store.
 There was virtually nothing there.
 A nice decent-sized space - right downtown - with very little to offer, unfortunately.
(Honestly, if they wanted to hire me one day a week, I could pull things from their other store and put them in and make it really nice. I know I could.  Sigh....)
All I found that I wanted was a pretty little vintage hat for Lady Edith to model:

 I think it looks lovely on her.

 The little "flower" was missing it's original adornment, so I added a rhinestone brooch.....

 ...and I added a vintage rhinestone necklace around her neck:

Considering how the rest of the store looked, I felt lucky to find this one nice little vintage item.

Lady Edith's Hats #2: Vintage Black Velvet

 Lady Edith is back again today, serving as my hat model.
This time, she's wearing a little black velvet number with a bit of netting in the front, and a sprinkling of pearls as trim:

 I paired the hat with a pearl choker that was actually a Christmas gift from my husband years ago, and also a necklace of black glass beads. I honestly can't remember whether those beads belonged to my mother-in-law and were here in the house, or whether I bought them myself and have had them for years and years.
Either way, they are one of my favorites.

Lady Edith's Hats #1: Ready To Travel In Style

I had asked for help with a name for this lovely lady bust back when I first found her.
I think I've finally decided on Lady Edith.

Today, she sports a vintage hat I found at a thrift store, a pretty Vera Neumann scarf and some shades - to shield her fair skin from the sun.

I think she's ready to go, don't you?
(I plan to have her do some more "modeling" for me in the future.)
