Wacky Vintage Cards

You can still find any number of silly, funny, even wacky cards in any card shop today - but do you remember ones like these?
I have some that I have saved since the 70's! Just felt like sharing them with you today.
inside:

inside:
A birthday card from my friend Debbie:
The message inside? "Merry Christmas"!
And a Christmas card from her, too:
....and the inside of that one:

I found a couple of unused ones here in the house, in the secretary that belonged to my mother-in-law. I wouldn't want to give this one to anybody:
Inside:

Not very nice.
And this one:
Inside:
That's just mean.
No wonder they were unused.

Hands

That's it - just some pretty hands today. Like this lovely little enameled pin I purchased when I was a mail carrier. It reminded me of sorting letters into my case at work:
And this art deco vintage artwork on the cover of my box that held stockings in the 1930's:
And my simple and pretty barrette that I bought years ago. Unfortunately, it does not hold my hair very well, but I like it:

And this graceful hand that holds some of my favorite jewelry:

Handy to have around.
Pun intended.

A Few Finds From The Weekend

My sisters were here for a visit this past weekend, and we went out to a few yard sales and the flea market. I picked up a few photographs from one vendor that I thought were either cute or interesting or both:
These pencil pocket clips may be my favorite find:
A box of Anagrams to use like Scrabble tiles:
I thought this linen tablecloth would look great on my table for fall:
A cute salt and pepper set, a small paperweight, and another pair of Anchor Hocking shakers - or they will be if I can find lids that fit!
Marx Bros. sheet music, another with pretty lilacs, Chinese health balls - I love the sound these make when you roll them around in your hand. And I bought the vintage sprinkles bottle because I like to use old ones - they are cuter than new ones!
We had fun!

My Miscellanea - Rhinestones

Today, it's a look at just a bit of my bling. My all-time favorite piece is the fabulous vintage bird brooch in the center. He is one of the things I've had so long I don't remember where or when I got it.
The butterfly belonged to my mother-in-law, the flower tree was a thrift shop find, as was the dainty floral bouquet. And the pretty posy flower clip-on earrings were a gift from my sister! I love them all.

Random Shots Of Stuff

Just a few pictures of some random little spots in our house, featuring items from my collections. The first one, below, is the side of a tall cupboard in our laundry room/pantry.
A display of colorful stuff on my red hutch, including two Hall pitchers, swanky swigs ,a Bauer custard cup, and a Mary Engelbreit cup and saucer. Some day I will post more photos of my swanky sets.

And three of my very favorite tea towels featuring embroidery and applique.
Can you tell I like COLOR?
