My Vintage Elna

Sister Lori here: The other day I picked up this vintage magazine at a thrift store.

Just a few pages in, I found the following advertisement:

Well, guess what? I have the exact machine!! It is my old workhorse of many years and it belonged to our Grandma.
Here is mine. I believe I inherited it in the mid 1970's and used it to make things for some early craft fairs I did back then, and also to sew my daughter's clothes.
It is a great machine in a cabinet. I used to have it cleaned and oiled regularly, and I need to find someone to do that again soon, as I will be sewing for my granddaughter now.
Still have the receipt and all from when Grandma bought it back in 1960.
It sure is a good machine, I have the original books and attachments, too. Love it!!

Thanks Grandma!!!

I just love that you still have this great old machine. I really can't remember Grandma sewing, but I do remember her closet full of interesting material and stuff in the hallway. The oldies are the best, aren't they? I loved your wallets and frames and etc. that you made for us back then. Your lovely granddaughter is going to be so lucky to have you sewing for her. Love T

I really love Elna's too!
A couple years back I seen a vintage green Elna in a magazine. I said to myself "That is my Dream sewing machine" (Greens my favorite color)So from that day I decided no matter what eventually I would have that machine. It was about a year later I found my green Elna in a thrift store two towns away. =D
*heheeh* It works perfectly and I like it way too much.

Yours looks wonderful!
