A New Year

The new year dawned cold and clear here in the Gold Country of northern California.
I thought I would just share a few lovely pages from The Country Diary Of An Edwardian Lady,
written and illustrated 110 years ago by the talented Edith Holden.
Oh, and speaking of Edwardian, I am SO looking forward to the new  season of Downton Abbey, beginning this Sunday night!
(While the period drama may not have strictly speaking been set in the Edwardian era, it is referred to as such by PBS, as can be seen here.)
I'm not glad it will be the final season, but I am very glad that it's almost here!)

I had to pop over and see what you did for Christmas this year. As usual - I am just in awe of your collections. You put things together that I would probably pass up - and they are SO CUTE! I love the bell and bird trees! Happy New Year!

Hello my dears!
As you might know by now, you and your blog are one of my enduring favorites.
I really do need to make the effort to come and see you - I believe you have a reseller shop in Sonora or thereabouts?
Here's to 2016 with wonderous finds and a celebration of patterns from the past.

Hope you enjoy Downton Abbey - we've just seen the very, very last one here in Scotland!
