1920's Cloche Hats


I found a number of nice illustrations in magazines from the 1920's that I wanted to share.

Apparently, these hats were all the rage:

I mean, absolutely EVERYBODY was wearing them!

The ultimate in fashion:
The hat on the Redbook magazine cover at the top of this post and the one below aren't quite the same, as they do not have the small "brim" like in the other examples, but they are still of the close-fitting style.

I dare say they did seem to work very well with the short bobs that were popular at the time.
With my long hair and bangs, I would find them rather difficult to wear today.

Ahhh My first design love was always Art Deco, and I love these hats.

I couldn't wear one and look anything like these lovely ladies, but I do think they are splendid!

Ooohhh what a great book i have never come across one from the 20's i adore that picture of the lady on her own wearing the hat that would make a lovely picture on the wall. I love hats, have a lovely weekend, dee x
