So I decided I wanted to make some Valentine cookies; we hadn't done that in quite a long time. Got out all of my heart-shaped cookie cutters:
Made sugar cookie dough from a Farm Journal cookbook recipe, rolled them, cut them, baked them...and took them over to Lori's house:
She got out all of her decorating tools - most of which have been purchased at thrift stores, and we made buttercream frosting, and thin icing that dries to a satiny finish...
We used our bazillion decorating sugars, sprinkles, etc.....
And we piped and frosted and sprinkled away....
...until we had these - Lori's:
And mine:
Tina was supposed to join us, but she had her volunteer day at the local historical museum, and she was exhausted at the end of the day and wasn't able to make it.
Missed you, Tina! Maybe next time, okay?

Those are beautiful! And they look scrumptious. Do you think any of them will make it back to Sonora?? Hint, hint. Sounds like the sisters had fun.
They turned out so cute! You both did a great job. I literally went home and went to bed, but after about 12 hours sleep I feel much better. Love T
The cookies are so beautiful! I can see all the hard work that went into them. I wish I had the patience to do the decorating!!
Deanna :D
