Happy New Year!!

Just wanted to wish a happy 2008 to everyone! I will start off the year the same way I have started most every year- watching the Tournament of Roses Parade! And why not throw in a couple of the vintage images I love so much - the lovely angel postcard above, and the gorgeous greeting card below that was mailed on New Year's Eve 1940 to my in-laws.

Here's hoping yours is "A Glad New Year" indeed!

And a very Glad New Year to you too! I love the angel holding up the New Year like she is showing it to God. We were sound asleep at midnight (well, we are grandparents after all...) until the neighbors across the river decided to shoot off firecrackers, rifles, and who knows what else. Hubby (in the midst of dreaming) thought someone was knocking on the door but came to his senses as he was searching for his pants! What a way to start the year. Nine years ago today we drove out to the country to look at a house (this one) and found it sitting forlorn, empty, and the front door wide open to the elements and some wild animals. In three weeks we would be in escrow to buy the house, and would be grandparents for the first time. Love T
