Washington, California, that is:
Lori and I went over to the Nevada City area, and we took a little side jaunt out to Washington to go check out the River Rest Resort campground.
We used to go camping there years ago, so it was fun to reminisce:
It had been longer since Lori had been there, and she wanted to check it out so she could see what campsites we thought looked best. She wanted to tell her daughter, Amber which ones they might like to try to reserve if a group of families all went together for a weekend or something. It looks so pretty , there on the Yuba River, doesn't it?
We rather liked this group of sites that were off in a corner by themselves:
The water looked especially inviting the day we were there - it was about 103 degrees.
There's an old cemetery along the road as you drive down into the campground. Only a few of the original headstones remain:
The town isn't too big; they have a store, this hotel, which I am not sure is even still open, maybe a cafe.
Just a nice place to go relax and get away from it all.
And some good memories don't hurt, either.

Beautiful pictures - I can almost smell the trees. Until you said 103 degrees (we've had a lot of that here in IN lately) I thought it was cool and shady.
So...different topic - is that stone cataloged on findagrave.com? If not you might want to post it.
Washington is a cute little town, how fun it would be to camp there! Do they have water? Pit toilets? Planning ahead! LOL. I was going to do a post on it over a year ago but Rich and I got a little lost that day and ended up in a different area instead. Have to admit that 103 was a bit too much temp for me to have enjoyed the visit without a dip in the river. Great photos. Love T
I'm not sure I've ever been to Washington. We use to drive all over that area when we were looking for property to buy. It's beautiful.
This 103 degree weather is too much with the humidity. I'm ready to head for Tahoe... or the ocean.
The pic's are beautiful. It looks like a great place, and yes that river looks really inviting!I've never been to Washington either-but it looks great!
