Masquerade Party With Skipper, Barbie & Ken

My vintage Barbie wish-list would certainly include the "Masquerade" costumes for Barbie, Ken and Skipper.
I'd love to have them, so I could dress up my dolls for Halloween!
Shown below, you see the illustrations of them that can be found inside the little vintage fashion catalogs, staring with Skipper:
And Ken:
I found images of them online:

And even one of unopened original packages - totally cool:
Like I said - I only WISH I had them!
Have YOU ever gone to a Masquerade Ball?

Oh, I am with you, I would so like to have those outfits. My mom did make a few Barbie clothes from patterns.

I am just now discovering online all of the amazing doll designs - even the graphics on the patterns are keepers.

No, I've never been to a masquerade ball ~

Our friend John used to have Masquerade skating parties at the roller rink, that is as close as I have gotten to the "ball" part. Ken looks pretty ridiculous, I bet he hated that costume. Love T

So sweet. I love Barbie! She gets a bad wrap!

Have you seen the Monster High Dolls? They are not toys, even though they are sold as toys. They are monster dolls, and they might be Matel too.

I haven't heard anyone say they were concerned that their daughter would want to look like one. LOL Happy Halloween!

No, never gone to a masquerade and have always been intrigued by them. I like the scenes of Grace Kelly in the Hitchcock "To Catch a Thief" (right name?) going to a masquerade.

I loved those little Barbie promo magazines, used to pour through them. Rarely had $ for those outfits - which I think cost more than the dolls, didn't they? But most of us just had the dolls and sewed for them. We thought that was normal.

I adored sewing for my Barbie, she comes up often in my sewing podcast. Yes, she gets a bad wrap. Barbie, and falls, were my story telling inspiration. They had all kinds of adventures, just the sorts of things I would do when I grew up.

Agree with @Tina - Ken would have disliked that outfit!
