Today's post just had to be about the lovely and talented Angela Lansbury - one of my all-time favorites, and one of the best actresses in the WORLD! Here is a gorgeous publicity still from the 1950's:

And I have a couple of books about her, too. This one:

And this one she, herself, wrote:

From Gaslight, to Mame on Broadway, to Bedknobs And Broomsticks and Murder She Wrote, from The Shell-Seekers to Mrs. Potts in Beauty And The Beast , and everything in between, she has delighted us with her performances on the theater stage, the silver screen, and the TV screen. I could go on and on ( and on) listing her famous roles- but I'm sure you all have your favorites. I absolutely adore her.
Happy, happy birthday Angela!!

A wonderful and talented woman and a true beauty. Happy Birthday!
I absolutely love your first portrait of her in that gorgeous dress. Have to admit that Murder She Wrote (especially the early ones filmed in Mendocino) is my favorite, although I am also quite fond of Beauty and the Beast. Love T
I love Angela Landsbury... I mean to star in Sweeney Todd took some real guts.(blood and guts... anyhow).
She's great!
