1930's Ghirardelli Recipes

I really got a kick out of it when I found this advertisement page in an old magazine from 1932:

Why? Because I had found the little packet filled with recipe cards in a kitchen drawer when we moved into this house. I think my mother-in-law sent for everything under the sun when she was a young woman. I used to do the very same thing!

I surely do wish they had saved much more than they did in this old home over the years, but I'm glad that I at least have what I do. And I just love it when I find something in a vintage magazine that I have, whether it's something I have collected or inherited.
Here are some of the recipes, below.

I'm afraid I am not allowing myself to bake right now.

But, yum!

Yum yum indeed! I always enjoy going to Ghirardelli's in San Francisco and getting a lovely piece of some kind of chocolate. I would love to try the pudding recipe. Remember when we were little and had home cooked pudding? Great post. Love T

i used to sign up for all sorts of free stuff. while working at the plant in stockton all of us on the flat sorter would sign up for things for 'job security'
