Vintage Illustrations Of Japan by Marguerite Davis

I wanted to share these sweet illustrations by Marguerite Davis today, from a vintage book Lori found last year at a thrift shop. (Published in 1934, the title is "Growth In English".)
These little girls admiring a doll collection:
A Japanese garden:

A Japanese home:
"Jinrikisha"
Shopping:
And here is the poem "A Japanese Garden" by Janet Gargan that accompanied the illustration:
Aren't they sweet? I love her illustrations.

Absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to look at the entire book. The little baby is adorable. I used to have some of those split toe socks, long ago when I was little. Love T

Marguerite Davis illustrated a centennial edition of "Heidi" by Johanna Spyri, published in 1927 by Ginn & Co. Most of the illustrations are black-and-white line drawings, with one or two full-page illustrations in color. Here is a sample: http://pinterest.com/pin/328758/
