Mexican Bark Painting

I found this advertisement in a magazine from 1967:
And I also found mine that I have had since the late 60's or early 70's, shown below:
Here's a close-up scan. My, those are some bright fluorescent colors! I don't even remember when nor where I got it.

I am sure I have one or two smaller examples, too - somewhere! If I ever find THOSE, I will scan them and perhaps add them to this post.

Love the colors heidi. Remind me to show you the one Chuck got in Oaxaca back when we were first dating. The framing is really interesting. Colors are not as bright as yours. Hope you are surviving the grayness. I personally am really tired of it and there is no end in sight. Whine....:(

I used to have some of these. I guess I lost them moving around in the mid-70s, since I didn't care a lot about them. I used to have a friend named Carlos from Chile and he loved those kind of paintings and had some very nice ones. He lived in a great little miner's cabin by the river in Chili Bar. The cabin was destroyed by the high waters of the river in the 1980s I think it was. I hope there were no treasures in it at the time! I would love to find some of that bark and paint on it. I wonder if Michaels carries anything like that? Great post. Love T
