Crepe Paper Flowers

Do you remember these large, pretty flowers that were popular back in the 60's? I found a few pictures of them in my vintage magazines:
I'm sure they're probably still available - but I haven't seen any for sale.
I know you can make them, too - not something I have ever tried.

But I did find some here in the house! Some were in such poor shape that I had to toss them. But I also came across some that had yet to be unfurled! They don't look very exciting in their unused state:
But, look how lovely they become when they are allowed to bloom!

Pretty paper posies.

Lori is right on. Mexico is where you want to go to find these flowers. They probably sell them at Olvera Street in Los Angeles (see my blog of Feb 10th) too. You are so lucky to have found the vintage ones. Love T

My sister, who is much craftier than I, made the most beautiful wreath out of brightly colored paper. I think she shellacked them or something. We had it hanging in our livingroom for years. I love those bright colors. They are so cheerful. That was fun hitting the stores yesterday. Can't wait to see your "freebie" post. I won't give it away.
