Well, I found something the other day that merited a little follow-up post. I found this cute little embroidered sewing box that I have had for about 40 years or more. No idea where I even got it.
But I came across it, quite by happenstance (not even here in the house - it was stored away elsewhere).
You will have to just take my word for this: I did not remember what was inside of it.
Here it is - cute, huh?
Hmmm.... what's in here, I wonder....
Oh! I KNEW it looked familiar! Yes, I DID have that "Brownstone" kit years ago - and no wonder I did not know what had become of it - I never even finished it (story of my life!).
Now, mind you - it had NOT been anywhere near 40 years since I had last seen this (I am unsure how long exactly it had been - but not THAT long), but I absolutely did not recall what was inside my little "sewing box", and I was NOT looking for it - and how funny that I should discover it, after having written that post just days before!?
Look what else was in there - yet another unfinished ( heck- barely begun!) Jiffy Stitchery kit.
"Tillie Turtle" - how cute is she?
I told you I used to collect turtles years ago.
The frame offer envelope I found with these has an expiration date of June 1975, so I am pretty certain these were from '74 or earlier.

Those kits are really cute. Hope you finish them!
That is such a "Gold Country Girl" story! I love it. Your turtle is really cute, he is just begging to be finished. Love T
Well, we don't count the years anymore. It's safer that way.
Love the little purse and all the embroidery on it. Really cute!
Fantastic site you have here but I was wanting to know if you knew

What a great story! :-D Those Jiffy kits are so cute--have fun with them!
My mom made the Tillie Turtle kit and one other like it (I think a giraffe) for my childhood room. I think it was right before we moved to a new house, so 1974/1975 is about right. I suspect they're still around in my Dad's house somewhere. Thanks for your blog.
