I had admired these fabulous little vintage bird clips back when Laurie, also known as "Magpie Ethel" (click on that name to read her wonderful blog!) wrote about finding them.
Well you will never guess what she did:
She sent me one as a gift!
How nice is that?
I was absolutely delighted, and I will treasure this beautiful little bird forever.
I am hoping that I can get up to Portland again one of these days, and actually meet this extremely talented crafter and blogger extraordinaire in person!
Recently, another very kind and thoughtful blog reader named Janet wrote to me and said she had two Peter Pauper Press books that she thought I might like to add to my collection.
She ended up selling them to me for next to nothing, and I am very happy to have them in my collection now.
"Ben Franklin's Wit And Wisdom":
A sample page from inside......
And also "Offbeat Humor":
She had purchased these little books herself, and owned them for fifty years. I feel honored that she thought of me when she decided she was ready to part with them.
(By the way, they each still have their original dust jackets intact, I just thought they would photograph better with them removed.)
Thank you so much, ladies; you are both total sweethearts!

Thank you to these sweet ladies for their great gifts to my sister! I know she treasures them, but also the friendships that she has started through the blog. Love T
What great gifts from blogger friends. If you do make it to Portland, please let me know as I live only across the river. Would love to meet you. I know Laurie and you would find her to be as you imagine, delightful!!
Isn't it nice that folks can be so generous. I find that bloggers define generosity. Love the little ornaments and the books... especially for you. Perfect.
