Tina and I were on vacation together,
and I won this fabulous plush Mickey Mouse!
Below, you see the map of Disneyland as it appeared inside the 1990 Souvenir Guide:
(There have certainly been some changes since then! We have another whole park just across the way, plus the Grand Californian Hotel and Paradise Pier added a lot more Disney rooms and restaurants to the mix.)
If you received a special ticket at the gate, you had the opportunity to win something at the "Dream Machine" (see below) - and I was one of the lucky ones!
Oh, how I wish that I could be there this year for the 60th celebration!
Back then, the Disneyland Hotel was still the only Disney-owned property that had rooms available, with the Monorail running to and from the Hotel right into Disneyland.
This page in the guide was all about the perks of staying at the one place where you could experience those special Disney Magic perks:
I say I'm not often a winner - but, five years prior at the 30th Year celebration, I actually won a one-day park ticket at the gate, as well!
And they gave me a button, too:
So, I'm pretty much a winner all the way, right?
Happy 60th, Disneyland - it's been a year, and I miss you.

I haven't been there in 14 years, and I miss it a lot. Remember running to get back in line again and again on Space Mountain? What fun! Love T
Disneyland has always been a favorite place of mine. We went often in my teens and 20's. I worked there about 5 years in the 80's so I was there for the 30th anniversary. But now that I live in Oregon I haven't been back in almost 20 years! I know so much has changed. Someday maybe I'll get there again. Thanks for bringing back memories!
