Goodbye, Tree!

When we were growing up, we always kept our tree up through New Year's Day. That's what we still do in our house. Once it is taken outside, we have to wait for a burn day to get rid of it. (I kind of hate talking about the poor thing this way! It was SO pretty at Christmas!) Nevertheless, we said goodbye...
Going....
WHOOOSHHH!
...going....
Gone.

B-bye.

My first thought was that it reminds me of the shots they show you at Christmas to remind you to be careful of your Christmas tree lights in case of fire. Think of how fast that could go up in your house! Then it reminded me of how your DBIL (my DH) waits in anxious anticipation of burn days so that he can get into the poison oak and manzanita and deer brush and build a great big pile and spend all day adding to it and enjoying burning stuff. What great fun. Your tree was beautiful and it made a great fire. Love T

Wow I wish I could do that out front of the house in the street. Almost better than the 4th.
