Then And Now #28 - Saran Wrap

Good old Saran Wrap - it's been around awhile, I guess. Here it is in an ad from 1954:
And here's how the box looked in 1963:
And again in 1986:

And today - as with most products, there are more varieties to choose from. Oh, the decisions.
I hope you don't think these posts are too odd. I really enjoy comparing the look of the packaging then and now. And the old ads. I hope you do, too!

I don't think they're weird! I love old advertising and it is interesting to compare the old with the new. You are a wonderful blogger to bring these to us! Twyla

Now why would a nostalgic ad be odd? I love vintage ads. I have a 1952 Ladies Home Journal and I want to take pictures of all the adverts that are in it. It's a dying art..if it isn't dead already.

Truly loved the post!

BTW, Yosemite Faith, I had no idea about those tabs! I'll have to ask my mother if she knew that info.

I really enjoy your "Then and Now" posts, Heidi Ann... nothing odd about them at all... Thanks so much for sharing them. In addition to the art and package design, I am especially fond of the text in old advertising. I've done quite a few posts with some pretty interesting old text... I would have loved to have sat around the planning table in those old Advertising Agencies back then!

~raises my hand~ ... I knew about those locking tabs... mighty handy! ~Pearl
