Patterns From The Past : McCall's 8612 - A Sleeveless Dress & Colleen Corby

Today, we have the lovely Colleen Corby modeling dresses made from McCall's pattern #8612 from 1968 in this advertisement from Seventeen Magazine, above, and below:
"Sew Wild!".
An "Easy To Sew" sleeveless dress in two versions:
Seventeen says "It's Young Fashion!"
I love the fact that the dress on the right on the pattern front was drawn to look like exactly the same fabric as the dress Colleen is wearing!
On the the back of the pattern, below, you can see that it was "Recommended For Beginners"
I  think I used to have trouble with facing and interfacing, but I was never very good at sewing, anyway.
That's why I paid Lori with my babysitting money to make clothes for me to wear to school!

What a fun easy-to-wear dress. I am surprised I didn't make it. I did make a similar one with long sleeves in wool. Colleen was a cute model. Love T

Colleen was one of my favorite models from my "growing up" years! I really like that dress!
