(Do I even really need to say that any more? Isn't that where I find almost everything I show you, LOL?)
The playing cards looked sort of "Calypso" to me, so I stuck them into the photo, too:
Written in 1957 by William Attaway, and edited and compiled by Lyle Kenyon Engel, with illustrations by
William Charmatz:
"Day Oh, Day....Oh,....."
Here's one titled "Have you Heard?":
"A Band Of Birds"
Oh, and then there's the always-popular "Man Smart, Woman Smarter"!
Love the illustrations, Mr. Charmatz.

Since I used to have a yellow budgie who lived for almost 16 years named Calypso, I was happy to see this and remember him. What a great songbook! Love T
Cool illustrations! Didn't I Love Lucy do the "Man Smart" song in one of the later episodes?
I'm liking those cards!!!
I want you to know how much I love your blog and all the wonderful things you show. The illustrations in this book of Calypso songs are wonderful. I also really love the Dusty dolls clothes. How I wish I could have that kind of wardrobe and hair. As a cat lover I really like reading about your cats too, and the picture of your daughter with the kittens is precious.
I adore this book - and all the others in the same series. They are so easy to play and sing from. During a dark week after the death of a friend, singing from the book of hymns kept me going!
