The Drawing Board, Inc.

I have saved this little leaf card with the ladybug on it since I was a teenager.
I loved it then, and I still do:
It is from "The Drawing Board Inc.", which was a Dallas-based company that created some of my favorite stationery items, and some of the most fabulous ones I've ever seen.
I wrote a post back in July of 2009 about my stationery collection, and I am planning to do a couple more upcoming posts on this same subject, as well.
I just love the colors and designs this particular company used on many of them back in the 1970's.
The company was acquired by the American Greetings Corporation in 1985.
I have found a number of other cards, stationery or invitations made by them at thrift stores and on Etsy. I wanted to share some examples with you today.
The self mailers seen below would have been perfect to send as wedding gift thank-you notes:

And here are some more "Thank You" self mailers.
It's the colorful and fabulous artwork that draws me to these vintage paper items!

A dear little sun invites you to brunch:
I will definitely attend your New Year's party if you send me one of these:
Definitely:
A Surprise Party?
I'm in!
(Just, please, send me one of these fabulous cards!)
 An Open House?
I'll be there - just send me one of these colorful cards and let me know when and where:
I'm ready any time for Cocktails with a tipsy pink elephant, too:
(Designated driver, anybody?)
Gorgeous Zodiac stationery:
"Here's To You...." (and the inside says "....coming to this party!")
Now, that really looks like a party:
And I apologize for the poor quality of the rest of these photos, but I snapped pictures from my vintage Seventeen magazines to show you a few more examples of great Drawing Board stationery.
The sunflower with the bee reminds me of my lady bug card!
I love the flowers and colors on this heart:
A hippo and a turtle, both adorable:
I can only hope that you enjoyed seeing all of these as much as I enjoyed finding them to share with you all!

I will have to dig out my lion card from Mother, if I remember it looks a lot like the hippo. Perhaps it is by the Drawing Board. The timing is right. Very cute. Love T
