And Even More Ole! (From Stanley Furniture)

Here I go again, with even MORE photos of the glorious vintage "Ole" furniture made by Stanley Furniture Company back in the late 1960's.
This yellow set was offered for sale a while back at a place in Southern California.
Would that I could have driven down there, purchased it, and brought it all back home.
Alas, I could not - so these photos will have to suffice.
First we have a corner grouping with a hutch on top, four pieces in all their astounding yellow glory with green, orange and pink painted detailing:

 Here are two photos from a Stanley advertisement that show a  different corner unit set-up, with larger pieces on either side:

 As you can see, the cabinet on the left above is like this one, below:

 And I did find this one photo that has the same type of corner set-up as the one featured in the advertisement:

Here's a nice dresser:

And the nightstand - oh, how I LOVE this little piece!
That cut-out detailing, with the sort-of Moroccan style just kills me:

And there you have it, the latest in my series of Ole furniture posts.
Because I love it, and yes, I am obsessed with it - in ALL of it's colors, more than mere pictures and words can express.
Call me crazy if you like; I care not a whit.
I love it; I always will - and that is a fact that you can take to the bank.
(And if you're headed to the bank, take me with you, if you don't mind?
 And pull out enough money for me to buy one of these sets the next time I see it for sale - no matter where in the country it is located.
 Pretty please?
 Hey, you can't blame a girl for trying.....)

The Fabulous Ole Furniture By Stanley, Once Again

I have more photos of the fabulous vintage "Ole" furniture from Stanley that I ADORE to show you today.
I think these pictures may have been from eBay, a while back?
The furniture was for sale, and you have to know that I'd have purchased it all, had I been able!
A dresser:

An "Ole!" Mirror, Spotted At A Thrift Store (But Repainted, Much To My Chagrin...)

We stopped in at the thrift stores in Fort Bragg, California when we were there on our little trip, and, as always, I was checking everything out pretty thoroughly.
As I was wandering through, I believe I did a double-take when I saw this mirror:

I said to Tina and Lori, "That's an Ole mirror!"
(That's Tina , below - she was looking at the books on the shelf behind it at the time!)
"But somebody painted it."

It actually doesn't look BAD in black and white; I mean the person who did it did a decent job.
I just love the original colors, and I hate it when I see pieces that have been painted, that's all.
Because I so very seldom see any of this, my adored  and much-desired favorite vintage furniture, out in "the wild".
It wasn't for sale - it was being used in the store.
Not that it would have fit into Lori's car, anyway.
If it hadn't been painted, I may have tried to talk them out of it, regardless.
Couldn't we have tied it on top of the car? (LOL!)

I love this furniture so much that I was happy to see it (in person) and I was also very happy that I was able to get some photos of it, black and white paint job, and all.
(Sigh......)

Ole! - Because I TOLD You I Was Obsessed With It

Yes, it's another post about Stanley's Ole Furniture.
I first wrote about it back in 2010, and I have done a number of posts since then.
I write a new one every single time I find another picture of it anywhere.
But today, we are going to take another, closer look at my favorite advertisement (from 1968), with all of the fabulous pieces that were pictured in this little girl's room.

I cannot even imagine having a room like this!

You can see the unusual chair in the picture below (I think it was from Craig's List).
 You also see the smallest nightstand  they made and the low chest - these two are NOT in the room above:

I enlarged the small photo that was featured in the advertisement, and in this picture you can how rearrangement of the same furnishings could still suit this room after the little girl grows into a teenager.
(I'll take it - all of it! Either configuration - I'm not picky.)
She moved the furniture all around, put her twin bed into the alcove and added a beaded curtain - super cool.
Oh, and now she has a TV and a phone in her room, too.
Nice, very nice:

You see the headboard and foot board for the twin bed in the picture below, along with that great standing mirror, and also a highboy chest that is not in the ad room.  

They had MANY different pieces available, you see.

You may or may not remember that the only piece that I actually own is the twin bed, but in the yellow.

 I found it at a thrift store.

It is still but a dream of mine to find more pieces of this furniture that I adore.

Next, just for fun, let's focus on the accessories in this room, shall we?

That looks like a cute trash can there on the floor.

 She has my colorful Counterpoint cardboard boxes all over, cute mushrooms, a cat that looks very interesting, 

and what appears to be a sweet hand-painted wooden doll:

One more shot of a bunch of the furniture (oh, be still my heart!), with a desk and chair, the twin bed again,
and one of the larger nightstands that has a drawer and a shelf:

Back to the things on her shelves.
 Looks like that could be a Gemma Taccogna bust up on top, there.

There's also a fabulous wooden Pinocchio figure, two gorgeous pincushion ladies (I LOVE those!), more boxes, flowers and flower pots, a cool pig and a bird:

Now, this next picture, below, is something I was really excited to find! An old ad that actually shows some prices.
 I wanted this furniture SO badly back when I was about 12 or 13!
 There was NO way on earth that my family could ever have afforded to buy special furniture for my room.
We hardly ever had any new furniture, period - and if we got something, it sure wasn't going to be a room full of new furnishings for me!
We simply didn't have that kind of money.
Oh, but a girl could DREAM!
And dream, I did.

There were at least three different styles of chairs.

I'm still dreaming about it, quite honestly.

I feel compelled to add  here that I am fairly certain that my own series of posts that I have written here on this blog feature more pictures, ads and information about this fabulous vintage Stanley furniture than you will find anywhere else on the web.
There have been many people who have discovered my posts over the years when they have searched for this furniture, and who have written to me about it - and perhaps have gone on to post the pictures of the ads, etc. from this blog elsewhere.
 I have gathered vintage magazines and books over the years, so it took me a while to gather all that I have shared here. I honestly think I probably have amassed the largest collection of original advertisements, etc. for this line of furniture than any other single person.
But I have done it all  because I am obsessed with the Ole Collection by Stanley.
Completely.
And I have been for 48 years.

(Quite a few people have written to me or commented on my original post over the years to ask questions about the furniture. I don't have any information about how to price it for sale. It is worth whatever someone might be willing to pay. Study Spaces

Now that school is back in session, the kids might need a study space, right?
For your viewing pleasure today, we have vintage desks and/or study areas, courtesy of my collection of vintage books and magazines.
Let's start with one of my personal favorites - just pull a Parsons style table up over your bed, add a back rest pillow and work away!
It's made even more fabulous by that wonderful vintage Bates bedspread!

I like the colors in this one, and the fab calendar on the wall - and it certainly doesn't hurt to have your guitar nearby, right?
I think I could save a heck of a lot of money for a rainy day - (please!) - in that huge and cool orange piggy bank:

Of course, the one thing you won't see in any of these vintage photos is a computer - but a laptop could easily be added.

A (hopefully, comfortable) chair and a good lamp are always very much appreciated:

Here's a French Provincial style desk from an advertisement for Bassett furniture:

This Early American style desk in the next photo is almost exactly like the one we have that was my husband's desk when he was a kid!
It's actually MY desk now, and, while this is my least-favorite style of furniture, it's a nice, sturdy and useful desk - which is precisely why it is still in use all these years later!

See -  simply switch out this typewriter, below for a computer and you're really all set......

You could do any kind of work at this pretty orange table. Crafts, homework, sewing - whatever you like:

This last space appears to be meant for a young child - and yet it's the one I like the best!

I'm sure you're not surprised.
I'd love to add that vintage lady bank on the far left in the bottom shelf to my collection, and if you're a regular reader, you already know how I feel about those vintage cardboard boxes with all the little drawers!
 Is that a ball or a balloon up on the top? I love that, too.
It's such a bright, pretty, welcoming space.
I'll take it!
Chair, games, toys, and all.
Oh - and did you notice the floor?
 I don't know if that's carpeting or something else, but I'll take that, too, while I'm at it.......
