Today, I just wanted to share a few photos of a beautiful baby quilt top that is for sale at Mountain Treasures here in Sonora.
(At least, it was still there a few days ago - I'm not sure about today!)
Another vendor brought it into their booth.
I've never seen anything quite like it.
"H" is for House:
I'm sorry, I only got one shot that sort of shows the whole thing. It was hanging up, and I did my best:
"F" is for Flower:
"J" is for Jack-In-The-Box:
"T" is for tree:
"W" is for windmill:
"L" is for lamp:
The price tag is/was $40.00, and I just happen to think it's truly a lovely vintage patchwork piece. Even it it was not finished and made into a quilt, it would be precious hanging on a nursery wall!
Mountain Treasures is a collective with forty-plus vendors, and is located at 13643 Tuolumne Road in Sonora, California.
Phone 209-532-3356 (Sorry, we do not offer shipping services, and items are available at the store only.)
We are working on getting a new Instagram account set up for the store, but have run into a couple of glitches.
If we get it up and running with regular photo posting, I will share that info here on my blog.

Then And Now # 108: See's Decorated Eggs For Easter
Here's wishing all of you a lovely Easter Sunday, and if you are very lucky, perhaps the Easter Bunny may have left you a beautifully decorated egg from See's Candies.
This advertisement from 1974 shows you what they looked like back "Then":
Yellow roses:
And pink roses:
And here's an example of one decorated with pink roses "Now":
The lovely picture above was part of an insert that came in our newspaper, along with a coupon.
I wasn't able to make it to a See's Candies shop in order to use the coupon, unfortunately!
Have a wonderful day, everyone, - whether it includes chocolate, or not!

And Even More Ole! (From Stanley Furniture)
Here I go again, with even MORE photos of the glorious vintage "Ole" furniture made by Stanley Furniture Company back in the late 1960's.
This yellow set was offered for sale a while back at a place in Southern California.
Would that I could have driven down there, purchased it, and brought it all back home.
Alas, I could not - so these photos will have to suffice.
First we have a corner grouping with a hutch on top, four pieces in all their astounding yellow glory with green, orange and pink painted detailing:
Here are two photos from a Stanley advertisement that show a different corner unit set-up, with larger pieces on either side:
As you can see, the cabinet on the left above is like this one, below:
And I did find this one photo that has the same type of corner set-up as the one featured in the advertisement:
Here's a nice dresser:
And the nightstand - oh, how I LOVE this little piece!
That cut-out detailing, with the sort-of Moroccan style just kills me:
Here's the gorgeous headboard:
And here's a photo of that same headboard from an old Better Homes And Gardens magazine :
This isn't a good photo, but here's one more, featuring a pair of them:
You can see how those differ from the bed I found:
Extreme close-up:
And here's another picture I found that IS like mine:
And I'm assuming this is an armoire, below - I rarely see photos of this piece:
Last of all, I'll just throw in two more (poor) photos of Ole pieces in yellow, since that color is the focus of today's post - a different nightstand, with one drawer:
And the low dresser and mirror combo:
And there you have it, the latest in my series of Ole furniture posts.
Because I love it, and yes, I am obsessed with it - in ALL of it's colors, more than mere pictures and words can express.
Call me crazy if you like; I care not a whit.
I love it; I always will - and that is a fact that you can take to the bank.
(And if you're headed to the bank, take me with you, if you don't mind?
And pull out enough money for me to buy one of these sets the next time I see it for sale - no matter where in the country it is located.
Pretty please?
Hey, you can't blame a girl for trying.....)
Please Note: If you are interested in this furniture, then I am happy you are reading my post(s). But this is just my personal blog, and I am not set up for trying to sell any Ole pieces you might have, so please don't try to contact me regarding furniture for sale. Unless you live in northern California, I wouldn't be able to buy it from you (and even if you are, I may not be able to afford it), and I'm not a furniture broker. I would suggest listing your pieces on eBay or Craig's List in your area to find a buyer.
However, I certainly DO appreciate any comments from fellow lovers of Ole like myself, but comments including e-mails and/or phone numbers may not be published, or are subject to deletion.
Thank you.

Yet Another Turn At "The Drawing Board"
I've got more fabulous and colorful stationery items from "The Drawing Board" to show you.
(I've written about this great company's items three times before - click here if you'd like to see my previous posts.)
I'll start with these wonderful flower power party invitations:
Precisely the kind of vintage artwork that I completely adore;
here they are in the original package, and a view of the inside:
And this little owl card is from The Drawing Board, too - how cool is HE?!
The next few are not ones that I own , but only wish I did - more invitations with colorful flowers:
And invitations for a Bon Voyage Party:
A groovy mushroom stationery tablet:
And a lovely fluttering butterfly invitation:
I'd add every single one to my little collection, if that were possible!
Because I love them all.

The Fabulous Ole Furniture By Stanley, Once Again
I have more photos of the fabulous vintage "Ole" furniture from Stanley that I ADORE to show you today.
I think these pictures may have been from eBay, a while back?
The furniture was for sale, and you have to know that I'd have purchased it all, had I been able!
A dresser:
Desk with hutch top - oh, be still my heart!
Headboard:
The bed and a nightstand:
The nightstand alone:
And the nightstand again, below - because it isn't possible to have too many photos of this insanely fantastic set of furniture:
A low bureau:
Along with the mirror that is meant to top it:
And the double dresser:
The two together:
And a chair or stool that is truly too cool for school:
And we will leave you with reflections on the absolute furniture of my dreams.....
.... my childhood dreams that remain intact, to this very day - and always will.

Road Trip Stop:Tillamook Cheese Factory
Okay, so yes - our road trip was back in May.
But I'm only just now finally getting around to writing some of the posts I wanted to share about our trip!
No more excuses, just content.
When Lori and I were not staying with family and friends, we attempted to find the least expensive lodgings available.
Some of the places reflected that fact in an unfortunate way, but we wanted cheap, and you get what you pay for.
Lesson learned.
We were delighted, however, with our accommodations at
Surfside Oceanfront Resort in Rockaway Beach, Oregon.
I want to go back and stay there again for more than just one night. We had a family suite, which meant we each had our own bathroom, the separate bedroom had another TV, and there was a full kitchen, too. I was able to stay up late and not disturb Lori in any way. For us, that was perfect.
We were able to visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory while we were in the area.
I took pictures of some of the large photos that were hanging up on the walls.
We had last been there in 1966! Our family took camping trips when we were growing up, and one of the longer ones {which was that summer} took us all the way up into British Columbia.
That trip included tours at not only Tillamook, but also the Olympia Brewing Company in Tumwater, Washington.
(Daddy used to drink Olympia Beer. I just watched "The Graduate" last week and Benjamin Braddock was drinking it, too, in the movie!)
I didn't remember very much about the cheese factory tour we went on back then, other than huge long vats full of cheese curds, and getting a sample of their wonderful cheddar cheese at the end, which has always been my favorite.
We were only able to see their Temporary Visitor's Center, which meant no tour this time. We still enjoyed the visit very much, and each of us made some purchases, and we also had some ice cream while we were there.
And, why not?
You have to know I could not resist a photo "op" inside this VW!
And here it is - and here I am:

Click here to read an article about what happened three years ago to their fabulous little orange VW mini buses that were being hauled with this rig:
I had to bring home one of the little mini VW orange buses - it was just too cute to pass up!
I hope to be able to go back there again after they have their Visitor's Center Grand Reopening in 2018.
And just in case you thought I was kidding about liking the cheese, this is what we happen to have in our refrigerator right now here at home:
We're cheese people, folks. Plain and simple.
I also bought a souvenir tee shirt for my husband's birthday, which was two days after we got home from our two-week trip. It was his favorite gift, so I'm glad I thought of it!
Back to the ice cream: I found the flavor Lori had tried at the grocery store when we got back home:
Yes, it IS as good as it sounds!
(The one I tried that day was Malted Moo Shake - also fabulous, by the way!)
And later at a different store, I saw this pint of frozen custard, and I had to try it, as well:
It was good, but I still mourn the fact that I can't seem to buy a peach ice cream at the supermarket like whatever we used to get when we were kids. It was probably either Safeway's Lucerne brand, or possibly Crystal.
I think I'll have to try making homemade peach ice cream some day, and see how that turns out!
Some day... yes, but it won't be anytime soon.
