I found the plate above at a local thrift store. The New Cal-Vada Lodge - well, old or new - I'd never heard of it. Cal-Neva I had heard of, but not this one.
So I looked on the internet, and at least I found an old matchbook cover:
And I also the postcard, below, posted on Flickr by Know Nevada. So we know it is/was in Crystal Bay, Nevada. And the picture and the matchbook, I'm guessing - are from the 1950's. So I wonder when the plate is from? The "New" Cal-Vada Lodge. We're assuming it's newer than the "old" Cal-Vada Lodge.

Don't know. Whatever. I like restaurant china, and I think it's neat.

That is the side of Lake Tahoe we rarely get to, but I will be going by there at the end of Sept on the way to Truckee so I will look for it! Great plate. Love T
It does look a bit like the Cal Neva, much improved. We used to stay over that way with the kids at a neat place called Rustic Cabins, back in the 90's, we ate at the Cal Neva.
I think your plate is super..old or new. I love restuarant china too!!
That's a nice plate!
Very, very, cool!
It's fun to research things like this because you find out a lot of other things that you didn't know as well.
It would be fun to collect plates from the Tahoe area and display them on a wall.
That's the place Frank Sinatra bought into...then had to sell out of, due to his connections to characters of questionable moral turpitude.
CalNeva is the one with the Sinatra connections.
