Patterns From The Past: McCall's 7861 - A Dress For The "In" Girl

Today's pattern from the past is McCall's number 7861.
This one dates from 1965.
You can see it here in a pretty combination of stripes and polka dots - in pink and orange, no less!
Pretty cute:
The pattern front shows fabric combos which are not nearly as bright and pretty!

And this "In" girl made View B as well - but she kept her lovely color combo.
"I'll scramble this smock and they'll never know it's the same pattern
...#7861" .....
Here's a fashion sketch of the dress in a long version:
The Mad, Mad Scramble; this advertisement is a page from (what else?) one of my vintage Seventeen magazines.
She's one of the "In" Girls:
She's right, no one will ever know she used the same pattern for both.
"The Chief will be really proud", indeed.
Clever gal.

I remember when the color combinations, such as yellow and blue, orange and pink, were very popular. Just when op-art was popular. Cute pattern. Love T
