I just love the bright colors against the black background in this book by Dahlov Ipcar. ( The Cat at Night pub. 1969 by Scholastic.) I think he may be on his way to see The Great Pumpkin in the pumpkin patch! The colors made me think of the pictures we used to make where you colored all over with the crayons, and then covered it up and scratched off the top layer to reveal the colors underneath? You know what I'm talking about, right? It just reminded me of those, and it looked sort of Halloween-y to me!
