My Husband's Birthday

It's my husband's birthday today, and he has requested his favorite dinner - homemade Chicken Cordon Bleu, and his favorite cake - this kind:Made, of course, with this: We decided against the farmer's market this morning because it's raining.
So, I'll be busy inside baking and such today.
Happy birthday, Sweetie!

You're making me hungry! What a great day for baking. What recipe do you use for your cake? That's my dear husband's favorite as well! Love, Deb
P.S. Happy birthday to Brian!

I love both those delicious birthday treats! My friend Denise and I made it to four garage sales yesterday in the midst of all that (much needed) rain, and I got a treasure trove of stuff for about $20. I have an entire paper grocery bag full of calico, gingham and other cotton fabric scraps, the largest is 2 yards, an old plastic tablecloth, 17 unopened packages of rickrack, 5 large unused spools of thread, a beautiful satin embroidered throw, reversable, and a little terracotta birdbath, indented, that is made to go on the side of a pole, all for $7. At another place I got three beautiful bracelets, a hankie, about 7 scarves, a couple with holes but usable to make into something, a wonderful iron roaster with lid, an abalone hair clip, a large brass crystal ball holder (minus the crystal ball, darn it!) for $15. The bracelets alone were worth way more than that. At another place I got a hanging bird feeder and a cute little ceramic cat pin. We had a great time, saw some beautiful parts of the Divide we hadn't been to, and met some great people. And we almost didn't go because of the rain! Happy birthday to my brother-in-law. Love T

I use the recipe that is inside the Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate box. Yum.
